Helping us achieve a healthier Scarborough for everyone

Age UK
Age UK North Yorkshire Coast & Moors is a local independent charity, working in multiple locations across the boroughs of Ryedale and Scarborough. We help hundreds of people aged 50+ every year by offering activities, events, support, and information.
Whilst we are a small part of the Age UK family, we are a local and independent charity, and all money that we raise is invested within our local area. We rely on the generosity of the community, funders, businesses and people like you to help us keep these services running in the Scarborough, Whitby & Ryedale areas. We are supported by public donations, our charity shops, and charitable community enagagement funding. Our main office is based at Aberdeen Walk in Scarborough, and we have a number of charity shops in the area.
As we promote the well-being of people aged 50+, we have a vision of communities where everyone is valued, listened to, and can access services that allow them to lead fulfilling lives. We intend to accomplish this in three ways: first, by serving as advocates for the 50+, promoting their views and needs, and campaigning for change; second, by identifying gaps in pre-existing support, and filling those gaps ourselves, to ensure that help is always available for any issue; and third, by creating a number of informed and high-quality services, that are dedicated to the provision of their needs. Our diverse community is always changing, and our services continue to adapt. Together, we can create lasting, positive change.

National Lottery Community Fund
Social connections and community activities are at the heart of creating healthier, happier lives and a flourishing society. That’s why The National Lottery Community Fund supports amazing community-led projects. And why we’re looking to make a bigger difference in the years ahead, by listening and responding to communities and by focusing on supporting bolder change.
Thanks to National Lottery players, we plan to distribute at least £4 billion of funding by 2030. Supporting projects that will create resilient communities that are more inclusive and environmentally sustainable. Projects that will strengthen society and improve lives across the UK.
